Is my participation in the committee approving adoption applications, which is permissible in my country, considered unlawful, knowing that I cannot object to this work?

Adoption, in the sense of attributing a child to a man's lineage and granting him rights of sonship, is forbidden, based on the Almighty's saying: "Call them by [the names of] their fathers; it is more just in the sight of Allah. But if you do not know their fathers, then they are your brothers in religion and your allies." However, caring for a child, fostering him, and showing kindness to him is permissible and is among the greatest acts of devotion, while observing the rulings of mahramiyyah (unmarriageable kinship). If there is no mahramiyyah by suckling between the guardian and the fostered child, then they are strangers, and the rulings of interaction between strangers must be adhered to. It is advisable to establish mahramiyyah by suckling between the guardian and the fostered child to facilitate interaction.
