It is to pray two rak'ahs of regular supererogatory prayer after the 'Isha prayer. Its time begins with the entry of the 'Isha prayer time and ends at midnight. It is best to pray it immediately after 'Isha, and it is permissible to delay it until midnight, but it is not permissible to delay it past midnight except for a valid excuse.
