What is the ruling on the emission of semen (maniyy) or prostatic fluid (madhyy) due to a sudden glance, while immediately averting one's gaze and trying to prevent the image from recurring? And is ghusl (ritual bath) obligatory if semen is emitted?

If the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was asked about an accidental glance, he would say: "Avert your gaze." Therefore, there is no sin upon one who casts an accidental glance and then averts his gaze. If this glance results in the emission of semen, then ghusl (ritual bath) is obligatory due to the presence of its necessitating factor, which is the emission of semen with desire, by consensus. As for subsequent intrusive thoughts, there is no sin in them, but they should be repelled out of concern for the heart's rectitude. If madhy (pre-seminal fluid) is emitted as a result of thoughts, then the body and clothes must be purified from it, and wudu' (ablution) performed for prayer.
