Is it sound and blameless conduct to delay giving out charity until the Ten Days of Dhul-Hijjah—because the reward therein is multiplied?

Delaying obligatory Zakat (definition) until the tenth of Dhul-Hijjah is not permissible except for a valid excuse; rather, it is obligatory to hasten its disbursement once a year has passed. As for voluntary charity (Sadaqat al-Tatawwu'), delaying it until the tenth of Dhul-Hijjah is better, because righteous deeds performed therein, including charity, are more beloved to Allah than those performed at other times.
