The answer

If what is meant by "my will is for me, and passion is against me" is that the will contradicts the desires of the soul, then the statement is permissible if it corresponds to reality; otherwise, it is a lie. The believer wills obedience to Allah, and the desires of his soul may contradict that. Whoever overcomes his desires has complied with the saying of Allah Almighty: {But as for him who feared standing before his Lord and restrained himself from impure evil desires, and lusts. Verily, Paradise will be his abode.} The saying "Pray a prayer befitting..." contains an encouragement to establish prayer in a manner befitting Allah, and there is no harm in it. As for the phrase "Either pray a prayer befitting your worshipped one..." it is for reprimand and rebuke for the one whose heart is not present in prayer, and it is not intended to command the taking of another worshipped one.
