Are artificial eyelashes forbidden, and how are they viewed as extensions if they are not hair connected to the head, considering that kohl is permissible and lengthens the eyelashes, and that dyeing eyelashes black is allowed while dyeing hair is not, and what about considering other cosmetics a form of deception?

Wearing artificial eyelashes has two scenarios: The first is if they are worn to remove a disfigurement resulting from an illness or burn. This is permissible because it falls under the category of removing a defect, which the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, permitted. The second is when natural eyelashes are already present, and artificial eyelashes are attached for beautification and to enhance appearance. This is forbidden for several reasons: it is similar in meaning to hair extensions, which are prohibited; due to the harm caused by their application; because they involve deception, fraud, and altering Allah's creation; and for the misrepresentation if done for someone other than the husband. Moreover, most scholars have unanimously agreed to liken artificial eyelashes to hair extensions, as they are either actual extensions or fall under the same ruling by analogy.
