Is it permissible for a woman to use artificial eyelashes?

It is forbidden for a woman to apply artificial eyelashes because it falls under the category of hair extensions, for which the Messenger of Allah, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him, cursed those who practice it, as stated in the noble prophetic traditions that forbid extensions and curse the woman who applies extensions (al-wasilah) and the one for whom extensions are applied (al-mustawsilah). Some doctors have mentioned that artificial eyelashes may cause allergies, inflammations, and the shedding of natural eyelashes, which makes them a harmful practice prohibited by Islamic law. Furthermore, excessive indulgence in such matters can be a waste of time and money and a distraction from a woman's primary responsibilities.
