What is the ruling on wearing gold (for men)?

The gold mentioned (Louis) is a real gold coin, and its ruling is the same as that of other gold. It is forbidden for men to wear it and permissible for women, based on the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: "Silk and gold are forbidden for the males of my nation and permissible for its females." If a man wears gold in the form of a necklace, he has committed two forbidden acts: wearing gold and imitating women.
