What is the meaning of the Almighty's saying: (لَا فَارِضٌ وَلَا بِكْرٌ عَوَانٌ)?

Ibn Kathir, in explaining Allah Almighty's words: "neither a cow too old nor a young, virgin cow; but a cow between these two conditions" [Al-Baqarah:68], stated that "Al-Farid" refers to an old, decrepit cow, "Al-Bikr" refers to a young, virgin cow, and "Al-Awan bayna dhalik" refers to a cow of middle age, between the two.
