Is it permissible to kiss the grave of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and his pulpit?

It has been previously clarified that most scholars consider kissing the Prophet's grave (peace be upon him) and wiping his minbar to be disliked (makruh), and that 'disliked' among the early scholars could sometimes mean 'forbidden' (haram). Ahmad denounced kissing the grave but permitted wiping the minbar based on Ibn 'Umar's action. Ibn Qudamah did not recommend wiping the wall of the Prophet's grave (peace be upon him) or kissing it. Even if the permissibility is correctly attributed to Imam Ahmad, the most that can be said is that there are two narrations from him, with the narration of Al-Athram being the preferred and relied-upon one.
