Is it permissible to supplicate by saying, "I ask You, O Allah, by the right and weight and measure of 'La ilaha illa Allah (There is no god but Allah)'" or "I entreat You, our Lord, by the right and weight and measure of 'La ilaha illa Allah, Muhammad Rasul Allah (There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah)'"? And is it correct to say, "I entreat You, our Lord"?

The supplication "I ask You, O Allah, by the right, weight, and power of 'There is no god but Allah'" is permissible if the intention is to seek intercession through God's Oneness, or through His right that He has obligated upon Himself, or through the servant's affirmation of the word. However, seeking intercession through the reward of the word and its weight with God is not permissible, because it is one of God's creations. It is preferable to avoid such phrases due to the potentially unlawful meanings they might carry, and to suffice with lawful supplications.
