Is the questioner truly a believer despite not waking up for Fajr prayer, performing obligatory prayers without devotion, watching movies that contain music, reciting the Quran without concentration, and wasting time playing, even though she is patient in calamities and illness, gives much charity, harbors no malice or hatred, and helps her family?

Your deep faith, your patience in the face of harm and illness, your charity, your lack of malice, your helping your family, enjoining good, and reciting the Qur’an are all good matters and Islamic virtues. However, not waking up for Fajr prayer, lacking devotion in prayers, watching foreign and Arab films that may contain music or songs, and wasting time in playing are detestable matters. Not waking up for Fajr prayer may be excused due to the type of sleep-inducing medication. We advise you to rectify the mistakes and remain between fear and hope, following the example of the prophets who obeyed Allah out of desire for His reward and fear of His punishment, as He Almighty says: "Indeed, they used to hasten to good deeds and supplicate Us in hope and fear, and they were to Us humbly submissive." (Al-Anbiya: 90).
