Does the Prophet's saying, "And He placed his poverty between his eyes," mean something tangible or intangible?

The meaning of "making his poverty between his eyes" in the Hadith (definition) is that a person constantly becomes aware of his poverty and need, dissatisfied with what Allah has given him, and looking towards the worldly life endlessly due to his need for it. So, for whoever makes the worldly life his goal, poverty will be before his eyes, because if he turns towards it, Allah turns away from him until the love of it takes hold of him.
