How can a Muslim purify their soul from bad morals?
To acquire good morals and abandon bad ones, the following steps can be taken:
1. Ask Allah Almighty to improve one's morals, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to do.
2. Realize that bad character corrupts good deeds, leads to Hellfire, and causes bankruptcy on the Day of Resurrection.
3. Understand the reward for adhering to good morals and their great status in Islam, and that they are among the heaviest things to be placed on the scale.
4. Recognize the worldly effects of good morals in removing grudges and disputes.
In addition, a Muslim must have high aspirations and strive against the self to attain Allah's precious commodity, which is Paradise.
