What is Islam's view on a girl learning martial arts, bearing in mind that this is not for the purpose of imitating men?

A Muslim is required to defend their faith, self, honor, and property. Learning the methods and arts of defense is not exclusive to men over women. The Muslim woman has set wonderful examples in this regard, such as Umm Sulayt and Umm 'Umarah, who fought bravely in the Prophet's ﷺ battles. Today, self-defense is no longer limited to the sword and spear; its methods have diversified. There is nothing to prevent a Muslim woman from learning the arts of defending herself and her honor. This may even reach the level of obligation if the preservation of life and honor depends on it. This learning must take place within the boundaries of Sharia, either at home or in a purely female environment, while adhering to proper Islamic covering.
