Is the husband Islamically obligated to allocate a monthly sum to his wife for her personal expenses and to inform her of the details of his salary and expenditures, knowing that he fulfills all her household needs and that she works and has her own income about which the husband does not inquire?

The husband must provide for his wife and children equitably, without extravagance or stinginess, as Allah Almighty says: (And upon the father is the mothers' provision and their clothing, equitably). He must also provide her with housing according to his means. He is not obligated to give her money for her personal expenses as long as he has provided for her and clothed her equitably. He is not obligated to disclose his personal income to her. It is forbidden for him to obey her in cutting off support to his parents or severing ties of kinship. Affection and mercy should prevail between the spouses, and their problems should be resolved privately, away from the interference of relatives, with each party compromising on some matters.
