Is the use of "tar" in drinking vessels reprehensible because of its harm to angels, and what is its connection to jinn?

Tar is a coating extracted from burning wood. It was prohibited to steep dates (or other fruits) in vessels coated with it, such as "muqayyar" (tar-coated) and "muzarrat" (pitch-coated), due to the possibility of the taste changing and it causing intoxication. This prohibition was in the early days of Islam, but it was later abrogated, and steeping became permissible in all vessels, provided that the beverage does not reach the point of intoxication. Tar has no connection to jinn or angels, and what common people mention in this regard are mere superstitions.
