How is the estate of a man who left behind daughters and sons to be divided among them, and is it to be divided equally or is the male to have the share of two females, and can he write a division that does not take effect until after his death?

It is permissible for a person to divide his possessions among his sons and daughters during his lifetime. This is considered a gift (hiba) and not an inheritance. Justice must be observed in this division, meaning that the female receives the same as the male, and not that the male receives the share of two females. A condition for the validity of this gift is that it must be made when the donor is not in his death illness, and that the children take possession of what was gifted to them and dispose of it as an owner would; otherwise, the gift is not effective.
