Tawriya is the use of speech that carries two meanings, one of which is understood by the listener, while the other is intended, with the aim of creating an illusion. Tawriya is forbidden if it leads to the nullification of a right or the establishment of falsehood. It is permissible in jest, necessity, and for a predominant benefit, provided it is free from such negative outcomes. However, without necessity, it is disliked (makrooh).
