Is it permissible to buy meat imported from New Zealand labeled "Halal slaughtered," knowing that it is sold at double the price and is the same meat available at a lower price in other markets, and is it considered halal?

A ritually slaughtered animal (dhabiha) is permissible (halal (definition)) if the slaughterer is a Muslim or a person of the Book (Kitabi), based on the verse: "The food of those who were given the Scripture is lawful for you." As for the slaughter of one who is not a person of the Book, it is not permissible. It is a condition for the slaughter by a person of the Book that it be done according to the Islamic method. If it is not predominantly presumed that imported meats from a country where the majority of its inhabitants are Christians have been slaughtered Islamically, then it is not permissible to eat them.
