Is it permissible to cook dates?

Cooking dates is permissible if it is for a legitimate purpose, and impermissible if the purpose is to convert them into an intoxicant, because it falls under the manufacturing of forbidden intoxicants. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) cursed ten individuals regarding alcohol. Furthermore, cooking dates is prohibited if it leads to their spoilage or harms those who consume them.
