Contemporary scholars have differed regarding the validity of software copyrights. The issued (religious edict) is that they are absolutely valid. Therefore, it is not permissible to use pirated software, nor is it permissible to design envelopes for someone who uses pirated software for their design, because that would be assisting them in its use. You are not required to ask the designer about the status of the software they use.
