What should I do, as I swore on the Quran that I would not contact a friend of mine unless he contacted me first, and now he has an occasion and I want to call him?

You must expiate your oath and resume your friendship with him, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever takes an oath and then sees something better than it, let him do what is better and expiate his oath."
