Is prayer obligatory at home without the call to prayer if one does not hear the call to prayer and there is no mosque nearby?

If the mosque is far away, so much so that you cannot hear the adhan (definition) from it, then congregational prayer in the mosque is not obligatory for you; due to the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Whoever hears the call [to prayer] and does not respond, there is no prayer for him except for one with an excuse." However, you must pray in congregation in your home or with your neighbors if they are Muslims. It is also prescribed for you to call the adhan and the iqamah (definition), even if you are alone.
