What is the ruling on selling car tires that have pictures on them, such as those on "Michelin" tires?

There is no harm in selling tires that have pictures on them, because these are pictures that are treated with disrespect and are not subject to prohibition. This is evidenced by the permissibility among the majority of scholars of possessing pictures that are treated with disrespect, and by A'ishah's - may Allah be pleased with her - cutting up a curtain that had pictures on it and making two cushions from it for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, to recline on. Also, due to Ikrimah's statement regarding the permissibility of pictures that are trampled upon, and because such pictures have become widespread, making it difficult to avoid them, and hardship brings ease.
