Does divorce occur after a husband utters it, subsequent to his wife lightly hitting him?

If the husband utters the divorce (talaq) while being fully conscious of what he is saying, then the divorce takes effect. Anger does not prevent the occurrence of divorce unless it removes the consciousness of the person. Anger is the key to evils, which is why the Sunnah warned against it. Spouses should resolve their problems wisely and avoid divorce.
