Is it valid to listen to the Quran, then supplicate and seek forgiveness, repeat remembrances, and pray for an easy marriage and righteous offspring, without raising one's hands, during a 45-minute commute to and from work?

Du'a (supplication) is one of the greatest acts of worship. Allah has commanded us to supplicate Him and promised to respond, as He (the Exalted) says: "And your Lord says, 'Call upon Me; I will respond to you,'" and "And when My servants ask you concerning Me, then [answer them], I am indeed near. I respond to theation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me." If a Muslim supplicates with sincerity and fulfills the conditions for a response, then his supplication will be answered sooner or later, or reward will be stored for him, or evil will be averted from him. One must beware of haste, despair, and abandoning supplication. What the questioner is doing—listening to the Quran, supplicating, seeking forgiveness, and repeating remembrances—are among the greatest acts of worship. Raising the hands in supplication is not a condition, but it is recommended.
