What is the ruling on a young man falling in love through the internet, which ends in marriage?

Love relationships and acquaintanceships between men and women, whether online or otherwise, even if intended for marriage, are impermissible due to their corruption and Sharia-based prohibitions. A man's love for a woman, or vice versa, if it is acquired or caused, is forbidden. However, if it is not so, then there is no harm in it, as long as it does not lead to negligence or falling into something forbidden. As for after marriage, the spouses must repent from whatever transpired between them in their pre-marital relationship, increase in seeking forgiveness, and be careful not to repeat it.
