What is the ruling on not greeting a brother who severs ties, or on not benefiting from the provisions he brings, and is that considered participating with him in the sin of severance?

It is advisable to be patient, extend greetings of peace, and interact kindly with one's brother to overcome problems, for Allah Almighty says: "So verily he between whom and you was enmity will become as though he were a devoted friend," and "So whoever pardons and makes reconciliation - his reward is due from Allah." The one who maintains ties of kinship is not he who reciprocates, but he who maintains ties with his kin when they sever them. Unlawful boycotting is removed by extending greetings of peace and affection, and there is no sin in not taking what the brother bought unless it increases animosity. Responding to evil with good generates affection and increases the glory of forgiveness, and kind words dispel grudges.
