Is shaping the eyebrows by removing stray hairs to fill in gaps resulting from previous accidents and to unify their appearance considered the forbidden plucking (namṣ), or is it the removal of a defect, which is not impermissible?

It is permissible to remove eyebrow hair if it grows excessively in a harmful or disfiguring way, reaching the point of distortion, in order to restore the eyebrow to its normal shape. As for bleaching the eyebrows, it is originally permissible because it is not among the forbidden plucking (namṣ) and does not involve altering Allah’s creation. However, it becomes forbidden if it is medically proven to cause harm, based on the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) saying: "There should be no harm nor reciprocating harm," and the jurisprudential rule: "The origin of anything harmful is prohibition." Therefore, it is advisable to consult medical professionals to ascertain if there is any harm. If the shape of the eyebrows is significantly and disfiguringly abnormal, it is permissible to remove hair to the extent that makes them not disfiguring.
