The accommodation of the fostered child is obligatory upon his guardian because it is part of the maintenance. Scholars have differed regarding the accommodation of the foster mother and her rent. If the husband is wealthy, he must spend generously, as Allah Almighty says: "Let a man of wealth spend from his wealth, and he whose provision is restricted - let him spend from what Allah has given him. Allah does not charge a soul except [according to] what He has given it. Allah will bring about, after hardship, ease." In case of dispute, wise people can intervene, and if an agreement is not reached, it is best to refer the matter to the Sharia court to settle the dispute with a binding ruling from the judge.
