Dyeing hair black is not permissible for men or women, due to the prohibition of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, concerning it, and a severe warning has been mentioned regarding it. There is no distinction in this ruling between young and old, and the prohibition is not limited to those whose hair has turned white due to old age. It is permissible to change hair color to something other than black, and to use substances to straighten curly hair if there is no harm and the substance is pure and permissible.
