Will a son inherit from his mother who died and left behind money, if he does not know his father and does not know whether he is a son of fornication or a legitimate son?

If a child does not know his father, it does not necessarily mean he is born out of wedlock, and it is forbidden for him to accuse his mother of such. A child born out of wedlock inherits from his mother like other children because he is truly her child and is attributed to her, and lineage is a cause for inheritance, in confirmation of His saying, the Almighty: "Allah instructs you concerning your children: for the male, what is equal to the share of two females." Matters of inheritance must be referred to the Sharia courts for investigation and to ensure that there are no other heirs, wills, debts, or other rights that take precedence over the heirs' right.
