Does the child of adultery inherit from his father?

The child of adultery does not inherit from his adulterer father, nor does his father inherit from him. This is a matter of consensus, based on the saying of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him: "Any man who commits adultery with a free woman or a slave woman, the child is a child of adultery; he does not inherit nor is he inherited from." The child of adultery inherits only from the mother's side, due to the severance of his lineage from the father.
