Is the husband required to divorce his wife who left him and went to her family after giving birth to two children and graduating from college, claiming that he does not provide for her, and what is the Islamic ruling in this case?

A husband must provide for his wife and children equitably. If he falls short, the wife has the right to demand her due, or seek a divorce, or take the matter to a judge. However, if the husband is not falling short, the wife is not permitted to seek a divorce, because divorce should only be resorted to in cases of poor marital relations and the inability to continue the marriage. A woman who seeks a divorce without a valid reason is sinful. Both spouses are advised to be patient and overcome disputes for the sake of their children. The husband should be generous with his wife if possible, along with supplicating for the continuation of affection and mercy.
