Do good deeds multiply when the number of invocations (dhikr) increases, such as in the hadith: "Whoever says 'There is no god but Allah, alone without partner...' one hundred times in a day," and the hadith: "'Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad' (Surah Al-Ikhlas) is equivalent to one-third of the Quran"?

The Prophetic Hadith indicates that whoever recites "La ilaha illallah wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul mulku wa lahul hamd, wa huwa 'ala kulli shayin qadir" (There is no god but Allah alone, He has no partner, to Him belongs sovereignty and to Him belongs praise, and He is over all things competent) one hundred times, will have a great reward. Nevertheless, the Hadith itself encourages increasing this remembrance, for increasing it is better. This was affirmed by Qadi Iyad, Sheikh Muhammad bin Ali bin Adam al-Ethiobi, and Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Baz. The same applies to reciting Surat Al-Ikhlas, for it is equivalent to one-third of the Qur'an, and reciting it frequently is recommended, but without abandoning the rest of the Qur'an.
