Is it permissible to use a menstrual cup to prevent menstrual blood leakage?

The menstrual cup is a device that seals the womb to prevent the leakage of menstrual blood. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, permitted the woman with prolonged bleeding (mustahaadah) to use something to block the source of the blood, as he said to Hamnah bint Jahsh, "Use a cotton pad (kursuf)" and "tie a bandage (talajjami)." The use of this method falls under the principle, "You are more knowledgeable in the affairs of your worldly life." One must ensure its safety and that it does not cause harm, as physicians differ on this matter, and it may cause infections or expose the reproductive system to germs. There is no difference between it and sanitary pads in terms of Islamic ruling, but a woman must take precautions for her safety.
