What should I do to be forgiven for the days of Ramadan that I did not fast due to menstruation, and the days that I was unable to fast due to compelling circumstances? Is it permissible to pay money as fidyah for these days? If permissible, is it allowed to pay it from the study allowance my father gives me? Is it permissible to make up these days along with the days of the coming month of Ramadan?
The missed days of Ramadan must be made up before the advent of the next Ramadan. Whoever delays making up these days without a valid excuse until the next Ramadan begins, must make them up along with feeding a poor person for each day they delayed. It is permissible to feed the poor person before making up the fast, simultaneously with it, or after it. The amount of food for feeding is one "mudd" of food (approximately 750 grams of rice). If the delay was due to a valid excuse, there is nothing incumbent upon the one who delayed. However, if it was without a valid excuse and they knew of the impermissibility of the delay, then they must make up the fast and feed the poor. But if the delay was due to ignorance of the impermissibility of delaying, then there is no feeding incumbent upon them.
