What is the authenticity of the hadith: "Knowledge is acquired through learning, and forbearance through cultivating it. And whoever seeks good is granted it, and whoever guards against evil is protected from it"? And has anyone other than Al-Albani authenticated it?

The report stated in the form: "Indeed, knowledge is attained by learning, and forbearance by striving for it. Whoever seeks good will be granted it, and whoever guards against evil will be protected from it," was narrated as a marfu' (attributed to the Prophet, peace be upon him) tradition from Abu Hurayrah and Abu al-Darda. However, its chains of narration are weak, and nothing from it is authentically marfu'.

Al-Daraqutni and others favored classifying it as mawquf (stopped at a Companion) from Abu al-Darda, but this is challenged by the interruption in the chain between Raja' ibn Haywah and Abu al-Darda.

As for the first part, "Indeed, knowledge is attained by learning," it has been authentically narrated as a mawquf statement from Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him).
