What must a pilgrim in a state of ihram do if he wraps a blanket around himself while asleep, or covers part of his face like his lower jaw and neck, or covers his entire face and head while asleep and then removes the blanket upon waking?

It is permissible for a pilgrim in the state of ihram (definition) to wrap his body with a blanket or similar, as long as he does not cover his head. If a man covers his face, there is no penalty according to the most authoritative opinion. However, if he covers his head forgetfully or while asleep, there is no fidyah (definition) (expiatory sacrifice) upon him. He must remove the covering immediately upon remembering or waking up.
