The answer

It is permissible for a pilgrim in the state of to wrap his body with a blanket or similar, as long as he does not cover his head. If a man covers his face, there is no penalty according to the most authoritative opinion. However, if he covers his head forgetfully or while asleep, there is no (expiatory sacrifice) upon him. He must remove the covering immediately upon remembering or waking up.
