What is the expiation for a sin from which I have repented, regretted, and resolved not to return to it, and is there an expiation for an amount of money I took without right, and its owner has forgiven me?

The conditions for repentance from a sin committed between a servant and his Lord are: regret for the sin, immediate cessation of it, and a firm resolve not to return to it. Whoever fulfills these, we hope that Allah will accept his repentance, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever repents, Allah will accept his repentance." If the sin is between him and other people, then in addition to these conditions, restitution must be made or forgiveness sought. Sincere repentance makes the repentant one among the beloved of Allah, for Allah Almighty says: "Indeed, Allah loves those who repent and He loves those who purify themselves." As for a bad dream, it is from Satan to grieve the believer, so one should not pay attention to it or tell anyone about it.
