What is the ruling on a woman wishing to bear only males and refusing to bear females, and can Allah Almighty punish her for this wish?

It is permissible to wish for a male child if there is a lawful purpose for it, but it is better to be content with what Allah decrees and to generally wish for righteous offspring. As for disliking daughters, this is blameworthy, as it resembles the behavior of the people of Jahiliyyah (pre-Islamic ignorance), and daughters are a blessing and a gift from Allah. The statement that someone who dislikes daughters will be punished with a sick daughter has no evidence. If someone utters forbidden words and then repents, feels remorse, resolves not to repeat it, and seeks forgiveness, then their repentance erases their misdeeds.
