The answer

The Prophetic Hadeeth: "O Allah, bless us in our Sham and our Yemen." They said: "And in our Najd?" He said: "There will be earthquakes and tribulations (fitan), and from there will emerge the horn of Satan" – does not imply a general condemnation of the people of Najd. Rather, it refers to the tribulations that will appear there. The measure of righteousness and corruption lies in the heart and deeds, not in the place. Places change their conditions, and the hadeeth includes every elevated region to the east of the Hijaz, such as Iraq. The intended meaning of "the horn of Satan" is the place where the sun rises, from which Satan appears. This hadeeth cannot be used to attribute blame to specific individuals or scholars, such as Sheikh Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab. Understanding the hadeeth must be free from personal biases and sectarian motives.
