Is saying "O Lord, You are honey" to Allah Almighty forbidden?

Your love for Allah and your affirmation of it — we hope that what is in your heart aligns with this, as it is a part of the perfection of faith, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "There are three qualities, whoever has them will taste the sweetness of faith: that Allah and His Messenger are dearer to him than anything else." As for your saying to Allah, "You are honey" and "O الأصيل (O Noble/Authentic One)," this is not permissible because Allah's names are divinely ordained (tawqifiyyah); it is not permissible to name Him except with what He has named Himself or what His Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, has named Him. And Allah, the Almighty, says: "And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them. And leave those who deviate concerning His names." So, invoking Him by a name that has not been reported might constitute deviation. When afflicted by a calamity, you should resort to the prescribed remembrance (dhikr) and supplication (du'a), such as: "Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return," and the supplication of Dhul-Nun: "There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers." Be patient and turn to Him through worship.
