Is it more appropriate to eat food cooked by one's father, citing the need to dedicate oneself to seeking knowledge, or for one to cook for oneself?

Refraining from eating what your father prepares is not a praiseworthy form of independence in Islamic law; rather, it is a sign of excessive scrupulousness and obsessive doubt (waswasa). Allah has permitted eating from the homes of relatives, such as the homes of fathers and mothers, provided their consent is known. Furthermore, it is permissible to ask a father for money, unlike asking other people, so how much more so is it permissible to eat what he prepares?
