What is the authenticity of the hadiths concerning female circumcision, along with the chain of transmission for each hadith?

Abu Dawud and Al-Bayhaqi narrated a hadith (definition) from Umm Atiyyah al-Ansariyyah that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Do not cut deeply (when circumcising), for that is more pleasing to the woman and more beloved to the husband." However, Abu Dawud and Muhammad bin Hassan said that the hadith is weak and was narrated as Mursal (missing the Companion in the chain of narration). Al-Albani, in Al-Silsilah al-Sahihah, authenticated the wording: "When you circumcise, do not cut deeply, for it brightens the face and is more pleasing to the husband." The hadiths narrated regarding female circumcision are not free from discussion, and for this reason, scholars have differed on the ruling of female circumcision, ranging between obligation, Sunnah (definition), desirability, or that it is an act of nobility, as stated by Ibn Abi Zayd al-Maliki.
