ما هي شروط المزاح الشرعي؟

Legitimate jesting has conditions, among them: that it does not involve mockery of the religion or its Sunnahs, nor should it be a lie to make others laugh, nor should it lead to frightening someone, or to ridicule, backbiting, slandering, or gloating. Also, it should not be excessive, lest it diminish one's integrity and prestige and harden the heart. The status of people and appropriate timings should be observed. One should be wary of jesting that involves backbiting. Jesting should be like salt to food; for excessive laughter kills the heart.
