What is the ruling on makeup that alters one's appearance to show severe wounds or completely change features in movies and the like?

It is permissible to apply the aforementioned makeup when holding the view that acting is permissible, provided it is free from শরী‘আ-compliant prohibitions; because there is no শরী‘আ impediment that rules it unlawful, and this is not among the prohibited alterations of Allah's creation.
