You did well to abandon that which you had doubts about. You may return to your job on the condition that you explain to them the reality of the distance of your home. If they accept, then so be it. Otherwise, it is not permissible to lie or deceive, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Muslims are bound by their conditions."
