What is incumbent upon one who abandoned prayer and fasting between the ages of twelve and twenty-four, without remembering the number of days of missed fasts, and what is the ruling on prayer and fasting during a period of ritual impurity due to menstruation, out of ignorance?

Scholars differ on the obligation to make up prayers and fasts intentionally missed, or prayers performed with an invalidated state of purity due to ignorance. The majority view is that making them up is obligatory, and this is more cautious. Whoever is ignorant of the number of days they missed fasting should make up a full month for each year. Prayers and fasts missed after puberty must be made up.
